Work Day
| Rockford New Hope has purchased a four plex apartment complex at 1921 Charles Street in Rockford for low-income rental.
Volunteers are needed to join others from Kingswood UMC on Saturday, October 29 to help clean and fix up the building.
Rockford District Superintendent, Rev. Ouk-Yean Kim Jueng, will lead a short prayer at 9am and bless the project before the work gets underway. All are welcome.

Turkey Earthquake- UMCOR Response

Since a catastrophic 7.2-magnitude earthquake rocked eastern Turkey on Sunday, October 23, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has been in conversation with partner International Blue Crescent (IBC), seeking to get emergency supplies to survivors especially food, medicine and blankets.
There is ongoing need for emergency supplies and for the eventual reconstruction of homes, health facilities, and schools.

40 Days of Prayer for HIV&AIDS

A free, downloadable resource from the General Board of Church & Society is available that offers 40 daily devotions leading up to World AIDS Day, typically Dec. 1.
Approximately 33 million people in the world are infected with HIV, and 2.2 million new infections are reported annually.
"40 Days of Prayer" offers a compilation of prayers, reflections and stories by members of the UM Global AIDS Fund Committee, the GBCS Board of Directors and persons living with or ministering to those with HIV & AIDS.
