Mission  Team Leaves for Haiti
The Northern Illinois Conference has one more mission team working for the people of Haiti.  On March 16, Rev. Christina Vosteen, NIC Disaster Response Coordinator returned to Haiti with 6 missioners to help rebuild  a school in the Banique area of Haiti through our worldwide network of UMVIM. One Great Hour of SharingOne Great Hour of Sharing (April 3, 2011) is one of the six churchwide Special Sundays with offerings of The United Methodist Church. One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) enables the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to live out its mission to alleviate human suffering. UMCOR is the humanitarian arm of The United Methodist Church.

2011 Clergy Appointments
Bishop Hee-Soo Jung makes formal announcement of appointments set within the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church.  United Methodist Clergy are appointed on a year-to-year basis; usually from July 1st until June 30th.  Appointments are effective July 1, 2011 unless otherwise noted. Rosecrance Opens New Adolescent Treatment Center

A


Rosecrance Health Network is accepting patients for a new Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program for youth between the ages of 13 and 18 who need treatment for abuse of drugs or alcohol.
 
The new program, which opened on Monday, March 14, is designed to help teenagers develop skills to achieve abstinence from drugs and alcohol and sustain recovery. Convenient after-school hours allow families to get help for their children with minimal disruption to school schedules and daily activities.
