Hyemin Na, of Tinley Park UMC is featured in the publication "Fidelia's Sisters", the online publication of the Young Clergywomen Project (an ecumenical endeavor, initially funded by the Lilly Foundation, but now an independent 501c). Districts offer Leadership Training

Chicago Northwestern District Leadership Training  will be held on Sat. January 29, 2011, at Glenview UMC.
Elgin District Leadership Training will be held
on Sat., January 29, 2011 at First UMC of Crystal Lake.

Rockford  District Leadership Training will be held on Sat., January 29, 2011 at Faith UMC in Freeport.

Rockford District Lay Academy will be held Sat-Sun. Feb. 19-20 at Trinity UMC in Freeport
Chicago Northwester District Lay Academy will be held Sat. Feb. 19, and Feb. 26 in Park Ridge.
 

RETHINK How To Do Church Training
 
A series of workshops about different ways to encourage out-of-the box ministry and revitalize congregations, will take place February 18th - 19th at Yorkville UMC in Union Grove  and Christ UMC Racine. Read more...

Cokesbury is having their annual Christian Education Showcase from January 24th - February 13th.  Many items are 20% off.  On January 29th you can visit the store in Naperville to get a first hand look at the Vacation Bible School curriculum offered by Cokesbury, Standard and Group Publishing.  Representatives will be there from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
 
On February 12th you can stop by Euclid Ave. UMC to see the Vacation Bible School curriculum offered by Cokesbury, Standard and Group Publishing.  Chris Williams, our local Cokesbury rep, and representatives from each of the Publishers will be there from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. showcasing their VBS curriculum.
