Associate Director for Missions and Advocacy
Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church
 
The Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church seeks an Associate Director for Missions and Advocacy. The position was developed after a lengthy process including research, conversations, interviews, and an analysis of the needs and direction of the conference.   

The Associate Director for Mission and Advocacy will be responsible for providing direction and leadership for missions and advocacy ministries, with special attention on youth and young adults. This leader will interpret mission and advocacy possibilities to many different audiences and equip local leaders to do the same. 
 
The successful candidate will possess a love for the mission of the Church and the annual conference and the ability to lead, teach, and inspire that love in others. An ideal person for this role must be a passionate advocate for social justice and have the ability to inspire others to engage in ministries that lead to transformed lives and a transformed world. 

The successful candidate will possess strong personal leadership and follow-through skills and a demonstrated capacity to meet clearly-defined objectives. The candidate will also help to provide interpretation of Harvest 2020 and the work of The United Methodist Church and initiatives.
