Greetings!

We had a great turn out for our first session of the semester. I hope everyone who came and everyone who couldn't make it are able to make it to the next session, this next Monday evening 9-14-09.

The sessions are in Room 205 in the WU Art Building again from 7pm-9pm.

I can hardly believe it's been nearly 2 weeks! You'll notice I still have some holes in the schedule, and I haven't had the opportunity to work on the list. No worries, Ye has offered to share with me his model contacts. It'll all work out.

I have had a request for costumes. I was thinking maybe during the month of October (Halloween) and maybe the month of February (Marti Gras) we could do a session or two with some fun costumes.

Also, would you be interested in participating in a figurative show somewhere? I think it would be fun to display our hard work. Maybe in the spring we could find a place for a First Friday Art Walk display and sale.

If you have any questions please call me. Contact details below. I hope to see you all there :)

Above is a piece from the last session of last school year. "Lazy Monday Evening." I forgot to buy a new canvas board so I was stuck with a scrap of drop canvas that I usually use as a table cloth, then today I decided to go ahead and stretch it. It was a lot of fun to over come the challenge of my forgetfulness. LOL

Please submit your images from our sessions this year and I'll feature them in the newsletter! Surely you are getting tired of my pieces. Details for submission below.

Please submit your own piece from class for the next email. Send it to me digitally at michelle@leivan.net  If I get many of them, I will select one randomly through drawing a name. Or if I have my Iphone with me, and you have a piece that you would like to submit at the end of our session, I would be happy to take a photo at the end of class. Then if I don't get any, you will continue to be subjected to my own work. The email is just too plain without some art!
