looking for a jobIs it a Good Time or a Bad Time to Look for a Job?
82% of respondents in a Gallup survey, think that now is a bad time to find a quality job.  It far exceeds the 56% and 54% who felt this way in October 2007 and October 2006, respectively. Despite the slow job market many people are still getting interviews and getting offers.  Here are 11 job search tips if you are looking for a job in a down economy!
A video resume is a short video, 3-5 minutes, created by jobseekers to showcase their skills and qualifications to potential employers. Many job boards including Career Builder, Jobster and MyWorkster, now allow jobseekers the ability to add Video Resumes to their online profiles.  Although video resumes, will not replace the traditional paper resume, they can enhance a candidate's presentation of skills to employers.  Career offices in vocational schools with videography or film editing programs can help students and grads get video resumes together.
How new college grads turn employers off in the job search?
With unemployment rate at 6.1%, the highest in five years, the Class of 2009 need to think seriously about what employers will be observing from them in the job search.  When asked to identify the biggest mistakes recent college graduates make during the application and job interview process, employers cited these job search mis-steps.  These tips are actually good for all job seekers.
