Dr. Jeffrey Hall on Our Personalized Care Approach
I want somebody to look as good as they want to look, but at the same time, I want them to look natural. I think sometimes it's easy to get into scenarios where you might be wanting to push the limit too much or trying to achieve too much, and I think sometimes people can come out of that situation looking like they’ve had surgery. Our practice is based on the premise of looking at what things really bother you the most, and then focusing in on those things so we can come up with a plan to meet those goals. And, we'll do it in such a way that it has harmony or blends in.
One of our big challenges today is that our society is tuned in to a lot of media through which they are exposed to so many people who look like movie stars—or the movie stars themselves—and they say, “I want to look like that person”. They’ll bring pictures to the office and tell me, "I want my nose to look like this." But, the reality is that in order for you to look natural, we have to look at the natural anatomy of your particular nose. This is why education is a key part of the process in our consultation. From the very beginning, we spend time reviewing basic anatomy and what the patient's particular anatomy is. Then we can determine and help the patient understand what is and what isn't achievable in surgery. If we can identify a patient's goals in the beginning, we are going to be more likely to reach their expectations.
We create individual plans, both surgical and non-surgical, for each patient. In some cases, procedures may need to be done in stages, or we may need to add different treatments to help patients reach their goals. Every patient and every goal is different so each gets an individualized plan. If we just take a person and put them into a category, we may miss out on something that will fit them better and give them the best results. For example, if we did a face lift on a patient but the patient had skin issues that we didn't address, we aren't going to hit the mark—we're just going to get halfway there. So, we look at the full picture. That's why part of our consultation is meeting with our entire team which includes estheticians and aesthetic nurses who are experts in such areas as laser treatments, injectables, hair removal, and cosmetics; a Pilates instructor who can provide a fitness program; and even a holistic medicine expert who can help us incorporate wellness and hormone testing.
The equation is that we want you to look your best but also feel your best. Looking and feeling your best can be surgical, non-surgical, or a combination working in harmony. Our philosophy is that whether a patient needs laser treatments, skin care, or full surgery, they don't look like they've had surgery—they look like they've been rejuvenated or refreshed.
