Reflecting Him Video Series and Leader's Guide
RLM is excited to announce the completion of the Reflecting Him video series. This video includes ten sessions that accompany each week of the Bible study. The weekly 30 to 40 minute film consists of one episode from RLM's original movie production, Behind the Veil, Carla's insights about that week's study, and featured music from Cindy Vinson's CD, An Invitation. A Reflecting Him Leader's Guide is also included in the package. This companion video to the Bible study is due to release in March. The Women in White

In the Fall of 2010, many groups formed, to go through Reflecting Him - Living for Jesus and Loving It! Most of the groups were connected with churches, but a few were made up of women who just got together to do the study. And eighteen women in the Henley Unit, a women's prison facility near Dayton, TX also went through the book, led by some women from Kingwood UMC who have worked in the prison ministry for 3-4 years.
Carla was invited to talk at one of the earliest meetings of the "women in white", and she and I went in, not really knowing what to expect. What we found were women of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds, who were in the study for different reasons. Some eagerly attend each Bible study that is presented. A few admitted they were there because one of the other ladies talked them into it. Some sat with heads bowed, not in prayer, but because they didn't want to make eye contact with us. Others talked openly about what they had already read. (They were on week 2.) Carla told them how God led her into forming a women's ministry, and then into writing the Bible study. She explained how she didn't feel adequate to write one, and it was immediately obvious that the women appreciated Carla's honesty and realness.
Carla encouraged different Reflecting Him groups to pray for the "women in white", and she asked the leaders to let the women know they were being prayed over. As weeks passed we received updates on this group, and then in December we went back to the last session.
Wow! As each woman came through the door she immediately went to Carla, to hug her and thank her for writing the study. They hugged me too, and thanked us for coming back. Most of the evening was spent listening to different women tell what the study meant to them. Women, who sat with their eyes downcast a couple of months before, were now smiling, and eager to talk. The prayer time was very special, and almost all the ladies had something to say. If you were one of the ladies who prayed for this group, we thank you. And we encourage all of you to pray for the women behind bars on a regular basis. Please also pray for the women working with the prison ministry. These dedicated women will start another study this month, and plan to do Reflecting Him again this summer. |
