It's hard to believe summer has come and gone. It seems like yesterday when the McDougal household was filled with joy on the last day of school. Now we are preparing for the first day of
another new school year. Why does time seem to pass so quickly? Do you sometimes wish it would stop so you can catch up? At the forefront of my mind lingers this question... Do I make the most of every moment? Am I living every day for Jesus? Or am I more concerned about me and my agenda? My prayer this school year is to reflect Jesus in every way. Summer is almost over! Can you believe it? The hot weather won't be gone, especially for us in South Texas, but September is just a few days away, and with it comes the new beginning of the school year. Hopefully your kids are excited about going back to school, and also advancing to new classes in Sunday school. AND, once you get the kids settled in, it is time for your own new beginning - a brand new, never before offered, Ladies Bible Study!
Carla McDougal, founder and speaker for Reflective Life Ministries, wrote a Bible study called Reflecting Him - Living for Jesus and Loving It, and it was published in May of this year. Many of you already have the study in hand, and several churches plan to use the study this fall. Reflecting Him encourages you to recognize God's life lessons throughout each day. The more you understand His love and provision, the more you reflect Him. The study provides real examples of how God uses ordinary life experiences to teach spiritual truths, and you'll even get a peek at some of the ways God gave Carla material for this book!
We are very pleased to announce that Carla's home church, Faith Bible Church, in The Woodlands, Texas, will offer the 10 week study, beginning Tuesday, September 7th, from 9:30 - 11:30 am, and Carla will speak each week before the ladies break into small groups. Original music from the CD, Faith Bible Church, will also be part of the mornings, as well as an ongoing screening of the original film Behind the Veil, written by Robin Murray to go along with the study. We know these two features are unique to a ladies Bible study, and we are anxious to hear what you think! There will also be a Tuesday evening study of Reflecting Him at the church. Carla will not be speaking at this gathering, but the CD and original screenplay will be still be included each week before the study time.
Ladies who do not attend the church are invited to sign up and participate in either of the studies at Faith Bible Church, and we thank those of you who have already done so. We look forward to renewing old acquaintances! For more information contact Judy Massengale at judy.massengale@gmail.com.

Excitement fills the air! Plans for Share Fair 2011 are well underway, so put this motivating event on your calendar now! As a Share Fair veteran, you will notice a few changes in our line-up for next year. Not only do we have a location change, we are also adding a Friday Night Special with praise & worship, drama, inspirational dance and more. Our hearts are pounding with anticipation for what the Lord has in store for all of us. Also, Northwest Forest Conference Center has offered a special rate of $99 for a room on Friday night, plus dinner for $20 a person. The rooms are large, so four of you can easily share! What a great opportunity for your team to bond and spend a little extra time together.
Share Fair is a one day experience that gives women in Christian ministry an opportunity to come together, encourage one another, pray for each other and share ideas and resources. Share Fair includes three symposium style sessions, the Information Exchange, numerous break-out sessions with inspiring topics, and a question and answer time. We are thrilled with the variety of ministries that play a role each year. The event is a wonderful place to receive encouragement, and discover ways to build a strong and vibrant ministry. I'm So Excited By Carla McDougal
Many of you know I attended the International Christian Retail Show in St. Louis in June. My friend, Kitty Self and I were there to promote Reflecting Him, and we were completely wowed by everything and everyone we were blessed to meet. Our publisher, WinePress, set up several book signings and speaking opportunities for me, and I looked up several times to see the line stretching around the WinePress booth. These were people wanting a copy of my book! We rubbed shoulders with men and women who have many, many books to their credit, as well as some promoting their first book, like me.
We heard inspiring music and listened to speakers who have been in the Christian retail business for years. We had some books signed for ourselves, and saw some of the artistic, creative products that will be available in stores this fall.
Throughout the show, representatives from Christian gift stores and book stores talked to WinePress about placing orders for Reflecting Him, and the orders are still coming in. You can pick up the Bible study from Cokesbury Christian Books, or LifeWay Christian Bookstores, both with stores throughout the US.

Open Door Retreat
You might think it is too early to reserve a spot for the 2011 Open Door Retreat, sponsored by Reflective Life Ministries, but it's not! Two churches have already confirmed, and individuals are signing up too!
January 14-15, 2011 will be our 2nd annual Open Door Retreat. We are amazed at how the Lord worked through the first event, and we can already see His hand in next year's plans. Although we weren't sure what to expect with the first retreat, God put everything together beautifully. We expect our attendance to double next year!
Join us as we take a Friendship Cruise. We will be strolling on deck, battling storms at sea, and attending a grand finale, as well as getting a-way with God and gathering at our muster stations. There are plenty of spots left, just waiting for gals who have a hunger for God. You don't have to be with a church to sign up. There's an Open Door! The location is Camp Cho-Yeh in Livingston, TX. (Same as last year.)
Carla McDougal, founder and speaker for RLM, will captain our ship. She will help us survive sea sickness, navigate rough waters, and show us how to lean on God as well as the other passengers. Music, laughter, praise and prayer are also part of the cruise itinerary.
