Telling the Stories
Rosene is very good at telling stories from the Bible for our evangelism training. Here, she is teaching how to tell the story of the birth of Jesus.
Fifty-one participants learned to tell 5 stories from the Old Testament and 5 stories from the New Testament with the purpose of explaining how to receive forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and the ever-abiding Presence of Jesus in our lives.
The sequel to "Storying for Evangelism" is "Growing Disiciple" which was taught on the last day. |
Hunter and Fisherman
Dr Pat Hutchens and I have fished and hunted together more than thirty years. He assisted us in demonstrating how to tell the stories and during a special luncheon told some great hunting and fishing stories. He is a strong advocate of story telling in communicating the Gospel and studying the Scriptures.
During one full day we trained participants how to study the stories of the Bible inductively, oral style. This is a powerful tool in studying the Bible. Great response to this approach has been received overseas and in the states. |
More Opportunities on the Horizon
In February, we're planning a trip to India to visit some of our training sites and make plans for new training in states like Orissa where they have suffered great persecution.
In April, Johnny Norwood and I will be training in West Africa in Accra, Ghana. Young emerging leaders from six different West Africa countries will undergo training to become trainers. Their efforts will have the potential of penetrating the darkness of 104 unreached people groups. The countries are Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Togo, Ghana, and Barkina Faso.
In February, our Ministry Training Institute will begin its Spring semester. Check out the link in the left column. Student registration has been changed to January 15.
