Golf Classic Nets $130,000 Lane Mansell participates in the clinic
The 4th Annual Curing Kids' Cancer Golf Classic presented by AT&T once again scored big for childhood cancer research - netting $130,000. Golfers from around the nation gathered at The Manor Golf and Country Club in Alpharetta, Ga. - joining ESPN's Lee Corso, PGA golfer Matt Kuchar and University of South Carolina Head Golf Coach Bill McDonald.

Over the last four years, the tournament has raised nearly $500,000 for the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

"We want to thank AT&T and its many partners for their unwavering support over the last four years," said Grainne Owen, founder of Curing Kids' Cancer. "To have this type of success in today's economic climate is only possible because of great sponsors who believe in our mission - finding cutting edge cures for pediatric cancer."

Rock's Run Raises $30,000 Clay Owen, Rock Knapp, Lee Corso, Shari Knapp, Grainne Owen
Hundreds of friends of Sherwood Christian Academy Head Football Coach Ted "Rock" Knapp rallied to support pediatric cancer research at "Rock's Run" in Albany, Ga. on April 25. The 1.5 mile walk/run raised $30,000 for the Aflac Cancer Center.

Coach Knapp decided to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research after he was diagnosed with  two forms of terminal cancer. ESPN's Lee Corso - the honorary chairman of Coaches Curing Kids' Cancer - started the walk arm-in-arm with Coach Knapp and his wife Shari as well as charity founders Clay and Grainne Owen.

"Coach Rock is a true inspiration," said Lee Corso. "It was a honor to be here with Rock and Shari and be part of this tribute to a fellow coach."

The success of these two events did not happen by accident. We had the help of many, many supporters and volunteers and our very small staff. Thanks to everyone for the many hours of hard work. The pay off will be more research for childhood cancer and better cures for the kids.

God Bless,
