Choosing Safe Supplements: Fish Oil
|
|
Not All Fish Oil
is Created Equally... Some May Actually Be Bad for Your Health!
As our regular readers and patients know, we are big fans of fish oil as a supplement that can be very beneficial to many people for many reasons.
We wanted to focus on a different aspect of fish oil in this newsletter--call it our attempt at a piece of "investigative journalism"--to really look into what is involved in the manufacturing of fish oil. Where does the fish come from? How is it processed? How is it preserved? How are environmental toxins (such as mercury) removed to keep your supplement safe? How is it concentrated? What is the difference between different brands and manufacturers of fish oil and how do you find an effective, safe supplement?
This topic is so large, we have split it up into three separate articles! But never fear--all three are available for you to read this month.
Follow this link to start with Part I. At the bottom of Part I, you will find a link to Part II, and then on to Part III.

Exercise ideas from NASA
|
|
Exercise is one of those things...we all know we should do it, but
we often don't know how to choose which type of exercise will best help
us achieve our goals, whether we want to lose weight, build muscle,
gain strength, prevent bone loss, or increase flexibility.
There are many experts out there with opinions and strategies on exercise, but what if the scientists at
NASA could shed some light on ways to put together an exercise plan to
reach your goals?
Read on for how space-age research can be applied to your daily exercise routine.
