The Trials and Tribulations of PMS

...and why you don't have to suffer! PMS (Premenstrual syndrome) and its severe cousin, PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder) affect many menstruating women every month. No one knows for sure how many women have PMS, but I'm willing to bet everyone reading this article has been affected personally-either by your own experience, or that of a friend, spouse, or coworker. What is PMS?There are over 200 symptoms associated with PMS, ranging from physical symptoms to out-of-control mood swings. The most common symptoms are bloating, headaches, food cravings (CHOCOLATE!), uterine cramps, headaches, breast tenderness, mood swings, irritability, and depression. To be considered PMS, these symptoms get worse the week or two before your period, and improve soon after you start menstruating. Did you know you don't have to feel so badly?What so many women (and their loved ones) don't realize is that PMS is not something to just suffer through, month after month. Dr. Eric's Tale of Detoxification

Detoxification is a natural process that our bodies do every single day. It is the removal of chemicals, hormones, metabolic waste products, and indigestible food products from the body.
If you've been reading our newsletter for very long, you have no doubt seen announcements for our monthly detoxification workshops. But you may not know what that means, what's involved, and who should participate.

Holy-Moley Guacamole

Dr. Kristina isn't the only chef in our family. When it comes to guacamole, Dr. Eric is the master. Here is his famous recipe, for detoxification or everyday enjoyment.
Ingredients:
- 2 avocados
- 1 tsp vegannaise
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 jalapeno, diced (optional)
- Juice of 1/2 orange, 2 limes and 1/4 lemon slice (adjust to taste)
- Organic bell peppers (any color), cut in 1/2 inch strips
Mash avocados, mix rest of ingredients in. Add salt to taste. Use the bell peppers in place of chips. YUMMMMMM!
