Open Data is one of the top of mind topics at ICIS as we strategize and prepare for the future. A priority will be determining how ICIS can embrace and support the many Open Data initiatives that exist and will evolve over the next five years within all ICIS member segments.

As we strategize and prepare for the future, our first requirement is to secure information from our Membership on Open Data Initiatives and their primary impediments. To this end ICIS created a 5 minute survey on Open Data.

Meet our Newest Board Member - Rosa Munzer

Rosa has extensive utility and government experience in information management, information technology, lands administration, regulatory and operational program delivery, human resources, public relations, and issue management. Rosa is currently responsible for delivery of records and information management services at BC Hydro. She previously served as the Corporate Business Information Services Manager. Rosa joined BC Hydro as the Project Manager responsible for delivering the Properties Information Management System.

 

Prior to joining BC Hydro, Rosa served 22 years in various BC Government Ministries including Agriculture and Lands, the Integrated Land Management Bureau, Energy Mines, and Attorney General. Rosa was the Project Manager for the Integrated Land and Resource Registry Project which delivered a spatially enabled, comprehensive register of legal interests, rights, designations, administrative boundaries on Crown land, information on land and resource restrictions and reservations (e.g. Parks,) and locations of private land. The project also delivered significant improvements to the provincial cadastral land base.

 

Rosa's educational background includes a Masters in Sociology and additional training in leadership, management, regulatory, and information technology.
