Compilation of a survey parcel fabric for the Central Coast Regional District has just been completed, introducing more than 2,500 new parcels to the provincial fabric under active maintenance. The project was planned and completed within a 6-month timeframe by GeoBC's parcel fabric compilation team.
The addition of this data to the provincial fabric provides newly integrated Crown and Private survey parcel mapping where none existed before and represents a large step towards the goal of achieving a comprehensive parcel map for BC. The Central Coast project is one of a few areas in the Province where all parcels surveyed under the Land Title Act have been compiled "in-house" using coordinate geometry techniques (COGO) from registered survey plans.
Central Coast Regional District, along the central west coast of BC, encompasses some 25,000 squarekilometres and includes the unincorporated communities of Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Denny Island, Ocean Falls, and Oweekeno.
The Integrated Cadastral Fabric (ICF) is an ICIS data product compiled and maintained by the Provincial Government's Parcel Fabric Section. It currently maps over 900,000 parcels and provides legal description information and generalized ownership classifications.
Additional information and statistics about the product can be obtained from the ICF program portal at http://apps.gov.bc.ca/pub/pip.
