Greetings!
In the very beginning the girl-child loves herself. Moizee and Carson, pictured throughout this newsletter, sat in our women's circles from their births. Now sixteen-going-on-seventeen, they continue to be full of themselves because they were: · surrounded by woman-affirming words,; · immersed within woman-affirming experiences; and · mothered by amazing women who encourage them daily to bite into life and the fullness of its possibility!
Feel free to use the resources included in this newsletter to inspire
and support you personally and to share with circles of women during
Women's History Month. The prayers and readings are available in an e-book entitled: "Wake-Up!: Designing a Conscious Spirituality." Accept this e-book as our Women's History Month gift to you by e-mailing me directly with your request for a copy.

A Prayer for Our Daughters Around the World
May the nations of the world and its religious communities celebrate the girl-child's birth with as much pomp, circumstance, and opportunity as her brother's; honor her body and natural processes without shame and violence; and allow her equal access to its pulpits and altars, thrones, boardrooms, and negotiating tables. As it was in the very beginning may it be now.

Telling Our Daughters the Truth May we tell our daughters, granddaughters, and nieces the whole truth. Of ancient beliefs in a Great Mother who gave birth to the cosmos and its inhabitants; of ancient times when it was from the mother, the giver of life, that the line of the generations was traced; of ancient women who celebrated themselves as the embodiment of the Great Mother and who celebrated the birth of their daughters. As it was in the very beginning may it be now.

The Divine Within Them May our daughters, granddaughters, and nieces discover the divine within them and love her fiercely. May they honor her face as they look into the mirror. Bless her body as they shower and bathe. Celebrate her life in the telling of their stories. May they face her without shrinking, she is lovely to behold. May they face her without cringing, she is not their judge. May they face her without drawing away, she offers them the abundance of life. May they turn toward her with assurance and determination. As it was in the very beginning may it be now.

Imagine a woman who bites into life and the fullness of its possibility for the sake of her daughters, granddaughters, and nieces.
A woman who surrounds the girl-children in her life with woman-affirming images, words, and challenges.
Who seeks out spiritual communities that welcome the girl-child's birth, encourage her participation in religious rituals, and celebrate images of a god who looks like her.
Who reorders the world, one injustice at a time, so that the world's daughters, granddaughters, and nieces travel a less turbulent path to self-love, self-celebration, and the expression of their astounding gifts in service of this beloved planet.
Imagine yourself as this woman...
WomanSpirit Blessings,
Patricia Lynn Reilly
