Avalon Park Accounting provides tax, accounting and consulting  services to small businesses and individuals. Tawan Turnquest, owner of Avalon Park Accounting, holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting and finance. She became certified as a CPA in the State of Pennsylvania in 2003, where she practiced until moving to Orlando. Her experience exposed her to many different industries including retail, resturants, medical, manufacturing, mutual funds, technology/consulting and non-profit organizations. Most of her clients are mid-size to small businesses and she is knowledgeable regarding the issues these organizations face. She is a memeber of the FICPA, AIPB, NATP and the EOCC.
When not busy serving our clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, fishing, dancing and playing tennis. Tawan is from a small island in the Bahamas and values the importance of living in a close knit community where she feels a part of a big family. She has three boys who attend schools and activities in Avalon Park. Tawan and her family truly LIVE, LEARN, WORK & PLAY in Avalon Park.

The Kiwanis Club of Avalon Park is holding it's 1st Annual Charity and UCF Scholarship Tournament. The date is Friday, March 12, 2008 at Stoneybrook East. The registration form is attached below with all the information. We ask you please consider sponsoring a hole and team if possible. We are also looking for a couple major sponsors as well. Our goal is to raise funds, not only to cover the costs of all of our great service programs, but also establish an annual UCF scholarship for deserving students.
Although our club is only 6 months old- we have already had a huge impact on our community and all of Central Florida. Our club has almost doubled since chartering as we are up to 41 members, we sponsor 8 school service clubs including the new Lake Nona Key Club and Bithlo Community Center K-Kids Club. We also sponsor the Timber Creek Key Club, Avalon Builders Club, and K-Kids at Avalon, Camelot, Castle Creek,Stone Lakes and Timber Lakes elementary schools. All of these clubs do hundreds of hours a service each month in their schools, communities and Central Florida.
Our club also recognizes about 8-10 teachers a month, a top high school senior each month with a savings bond and recognition at our monthly meeting a and approximately 200 kids a month with our Kiwanis Terrific Kids program. One of newest programs is our reading in 5 elementary schools every Thursday morning. We have almost 80% of our membership involved in this great program. We also do work with the mentally and physically challenged through our Aktion Clubs in Central Florida we support, Give Kids the World volunteering, the New Image Center downtown, the American Cancer Society and Juvenile Diabetes Camp just to name of a few of the groups we help. We are also helping Formula One Life collect baby formula for orphaned infants around the world. This next portion of the collection is now going to be delivered to Haiti based on the recent earthquake.
