Art at Mara's:
"Of Local Importance" A Photographic Interpretation of Familiar Spaces 
Rethinking familiar visions and shooting them from a new perspective, photographer Ward Vogt allows viewers of his work to see the local landscape through a new lens. Lakes, trees, and historic architecture finds itself being interpreted by Vogt, who brings viewers to a new level of appreciation for that which may exist in their own backyard.
Vogt, who is a resident of Denville, has done a series of town photos that include Cedar Lake, Lake Arrowhead, Indian Lake, and downtown Denville. In addition, he has preserved a piece of history by taking a shot of the longstanding, beloved pub, the Fireside, just days before it was torn down.
Vogt's exhibit, "Of Local Importance", will be held at Mara's Cafe and Bakery in Denville. The public is invited to attend the opening reception to meet the photographer, which will be held on Saturday, April 2nd from 4 - 7 p.m. Kids are welcome. "Of Local Importance" runs from April 2 - May 3

  In this month's NJ Monthly Magazine, Mara's was voted the "The Best Coffeehouse in New Jersey" and one of the five Best Cupcakes in the state! The best part is that it was a readers' choice survey, which means it came directly from our wonderful guests themselves (you!).

Aria Turns 1! 
Celebrate With Us!
On April 26th, Mara's Granddaughter Aria will turn 1! It is amazing how time flies, but as always we will be including our wonderful guests in the celebration. The "Birthday Party" will be for two days (Monday April 25th and Tuesday April 26th) and will include such specials as $1.00 Coffee, $1.00 Kids' size gelato, $1.00 off lunch & dinner, a balloon maker and a two day only Ariacake!

Wednesday April 13th and Thursday April 14th, we're giving you a break. We won't charge you the tax on your bill... you'll pay exactly what it says on the menu, nothing more!

It's Official:
April 15th 2011 is Morris Knolls Choirs Day!
Join us Friday 4/15 for a very special fundraiser at Mara's Cafe & Bakery. A portion of all proceeds from all-day sales will go to support the MK Choirs. This is our 3rd annual "Morris Knolls Choirs Day," and the Mayor himself will once again be stopping by to make the official proclamation.
We make sure to give back to the community as much as possible, and we invite all of our wonderful guests to help us out in doing so!

Another successful customer survey! Your help is always appreciated.
We had an overwhelming number of responses to our customer survey, allowing us to gather important feedback in our quest for perfection. The sheer number of guests who took the time to complete the survey showed us how much the Mara's community cares, and we thank you very much for your support in helping us to achieve our best.
It is a wonderful feeling to know that what we do is appreciated. We will continue to make improvements, big and small, as we live and learn. All, of course, for the simple purpose of continuing to give the ultimate "Mara's Experience" - something that cannot be found anywhere else.
