GOD CAN USE
A PHOTO!
Upon searching for the teenage boy pictured to the right, which Kerry had previously taken a photo of, we met his older brother, who informed us that his brother had drowned just three months earlier while diving for lobster.
This young man was elated to have a picture of his younger, now deceased brother and quickly showed the photo given to him to each of his family members. It is the only photo they have of him!
This was one of many opportunities to share the Gospel with this traditionally closed people group. God used a photo taken six years earlier to open a door and be able to speak about eternity and our need for a Saviour.

taken six years earlier in 2006 which we gave copies to a number of the Kuna Indians on the island of Playón Chico on the Caribbean side of Panama.

Greetings!
Greetings from south of the border!
Can you believe it's October already! This has been a busy year with lots of variety in our lives, as is usually the case. We can identify with the apostle Paul's words in Philippians 4:11-12, "...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation..."
Among other things, Paul learned the lesson of being FLEXIBLE! Of course like many lessons in life, BEING FLEXIBLE is not a lesson you learn once and never have to learn it again, but instead it becomes a way of life. I think this is especially true on the mission field!... One has to be flexible with their finances, flexible with their schedule and time, flexible with the food you eat and even flexible where and how much you are able to sleep!

PANAMA & ECUADOR: A TRIP OF MANY CONTRASTS

Last month Jan was able to accompany Kerry on a missions trip to Panama to visit our Mexican missionaries and their ministry on opposite sides of the country. Thankfully, Jan's trip was nearly free taking advantage of "travel miles".
This trip really highlighted the need to be FLEXIBLE, as well as the need to be content with little or much. From Panama City we flew in a small plane to the Caribbean side of Panama to another world... The world of the Kuna Indians! Kerry had been here several times before and we have sent numerous teams over the years from our church to support our Mexican missionaries and assist the church among the Kunas. The temperature was about 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity. While we both suffered in the humidity, we did not suffer when it came to food!... We were fed fresh fish, turtle and lobster!

At churches both outside Panama City and among the Kuna, Jan shared with the women. Kerry had the privilege of speaking at the anniversary of the Kuna church in Playón Chico. It was a blessing to meet pastors and believers from other islands in this region and be able to encourage them.
After a week in Panama, Jan returned to Mexico. Kerry went on to Ecuador to visit our missionaries there, as well as the new

| extension Bible school of Christ for the Nations in the capital city of Quito, where the weather was cool at 9,350 feet in the mountains, two thousand feet higher in altitude than Mexico City.
In Panama and Ecuador Kerry spoke a total of 23 times at 9 church services, 2 men´s meetings, 1 women´s meeting, a first!, 5 radio progams at HCJB, 1 missionary candidate class, 4 Bible school classes and a graduation ceremony, the first graduating class of Christ for the Nations Ecuador.

SERVING LATINS WHO SERVE AROUND THE WORLD!
|
God has given the Great Commission to go to "the ends of the earth" to every nation. As a result of His activity over the past decades, missions is now best described as "Everywhere to Everywhere" instead of "The West (sending) to the Rest".
- God is raising up a missionary force across Latin America.
- God has uniquely gifted Latin Americans for the mission task.
- U.S. churches and christians miss a great opportunity to be involved in God's global activity if our church mission strategy does not include our partners sending out workers to unreached people groups.

PRAYER REQUESTS

1. For wisdom, health and strength in all God has called us to do.
2. For our weekly classes at Christ for the Nations Mexico Bible Institute, as well as the Missions school we direct.
3. Pray for our 40 Mexican missionaries serving full-time world-wide, as well as students on internship and those preparing to be sent out.
4. For the team we are leading to Spain and Northern Africa in October - November. We will be gone for a full month!
4. For our furlough plans in the U.S. for the summer of 2013.
