Greetings!
BE JOYFUL, PRAY CONTINUALLY AND GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRUMSTANCES! These are the words of the apostle Paul in I Thessalonians 5:18. I believe that being able to be joyful and give thanks to God in all cirumstances is one of the primary characteristics of knowing and walking with God.
Recently our Mexican pastor's wife (Dra. Pardillo) gave a timely devotional to all of the students at our Bible school (Christ for the Nations Mexico) on always being joyful.
EVENT ONE: Mid-April Jan had to be hospitalized. I was in Mazatlan teaching at Youth WIth A Mission and felt quite helpless being so far away! To make a long story short, she had stomach posioning and became dehydrated, her glucose level shot up and she was barely conscious. Thankfully some neighbor ladies came by to check on her and she got her out of bed and went to the hospital, where it took 24 hours time to recover... BE JOYFUL, PRAY CONTINUALLY AND GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES!
EVENT TWO: Two weeks ago, the night before leaving for Boston to attend our second son James' college graduation, I got in an car accident and to make a long story short discovered our vehicle was not insured as we had thought and had the alternative of paying for the other cars damages on the spot or going to jail... BE JOYFUL, PRAY CONTINUALLY AND GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES!
EVENT THREE: Just this past week, we had workers who were expelled from the country they have served in for the past few years. (In this particular country, 90 workers have been expelled over the past 2 months)... BE JOYFUL, PRAY CONTINUALLY AND GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES!
I confess, as I think you would too, that it's not always easy putting God's Word into practice in every event that takes place in our lives, but we are amazed and thankful for His sustaining grace, protection, provision and care for us. Our part is to BE JOYFUL, PRAY CONTINUALLY AND GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES and then Paul adds that, FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD FOR YOU, IN CHRIST JESUS!
For the extension of His kingdom,

First-Ever Missions Conference at Amistad Cristiana
June 4-6
You would think being missions pastor of our church, Amistad Cristiana we would have had a large missions conference already. No, this is a first.
We have 20-30 outreaches each year, which usually include a few international outreaches and have send out 30 full time workers, but in a few weeks, we will hold our first-ever Cross-cultural Missions conference entitled BENDECIDOS PARA BENDECIR (BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING!) Please pray for the logistics, guest speakers and promotion of this event. We are believing it to be a real catalyst for the church in Mexico. |

YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER...
"Missions begins in the power of the Holy Spirit and He is the one in charge of missions, because it is He who leads, motivates, prompts and guides the Church to fulfill it's missionary task.
Some congregations say that they have the power of the Holy Spirit, but do not have missions vision, which is impossible, because if they had the power of the Holy Spirit, they would automatically have missions vision.
Other congregations attempt to do missions without the power of the Holy Spirit and the result is total failure."
