WAKING 100 SLEEPING FIREMEN!
On a number of occasions I have told the Lord, "I would like to stay here in this place (learn a new language and pioneer a work) and serve you... please!" Once was with the Pame Indians where we began a work years ago in northern Mexico, the other was in a country surprisingly similar to Mexico in Northern Africa. In both instances, I was encouraged to continue doing what God has called us to do... Multiply workers!

Similar to original call of the Bethany founders, if our lives can multiply others having a direct impact on unreached peoples around the globe, it's more important and strategic that we continue to do that.

One analogy I have used over the years, is that of a building on fire... Which is more strategic; attempting to put out the flames with your individual bucket of water or awakening 100 sleeping firemen?  The answer is obvious!

We thank God and thank you for being a part of the ministry he has called us to, in reproducing ourselves and waking up hundreds of  "sleeping firemen" by preparing and sending them to some of the most difficult and needy places around the world.

Greetings!

Kerry recently returned from an missions trip with our pastor Nahum Navas to visit some of our Mexican missionaries in Asia, as well as to check out new fields of service.
The trip had many contrasts. They met with each of our 7 workers in a "closed" country, where we will soon start a Missions as Business endeavor, as well as preaching several times in Indonesia and India. In another "closed" country they were greatly encouraged to consider sending workers with an existing Hispanic team.

It's always exciting to report back to eager students, many of which are professional people, of new ministry opportunities which they begin prayerfully considering.
PRAY FOR THOSE PREPARING TO LEAVE

Our ministry is multi-faceted... preaching, teaching, praying, counseling, encouraging, planning, strategizing, visiting, etc. One expanding area we are involved with is the missionary candidates who have successfully completed Bible school, the missions school which includes a one-year internship in another culture and are in some stage of preparation to be sent full-time to the field.

The following is a brief list of those in the process of being sent out with in the next several months. Some of the names have been changed because they are going to sensitive areas.

1. "Elizabeth" - Waiting on her visa for the UK, where she will continue to study English before leaving for one of the poorest countries in Central Asia.

2. Josue - Currently raising funds to work with the Bethany team in Paraguay.

3. Arisbe - Soon to begin her linguistic studies with Wycliff. She will be the second Bible translator we have sent out.

4. Consuelo - Preparing to be sent to India full-time in February 2010.

5. Rosy - Also preparing to serve in India full-time, February 2010

6. "Donaldo y Myra" - A couple preparing to teach in a University in a "closed" Middle East country.

7. Martha & Naxielle - Working and awaiting a needed medical procedure before leaving to serve in Europe.

8. Karin - Finishing additional studies in order to serve in the Middle East currrently studying two languages.

Please pray for these which are in some stage of preparation to be sent out full-time, as well as those currently doing their internships in Africa, Asia, Central Asia and Europe.
