We will encourage image certification students through partnering with the Fashion Institute of Technology through our scholarships, internships and volunteer opportunities. And very importantly, we will reach out to the community, giving back to help others through programs such as Gilda's Club NY, DIVABETICS, The Bottomless Closet NY, and Every Girl Can. June Event
The AICI Tri-State Chapter held an event on June 17, 2009 to honor the Chapter Member of the Year, Catherine Schuller, AICI CIP, to pay tribute to the 2008-2009 Board of Directors for their many accomplishments throughout the past year and to welcome in and induct the 2009-2010 Board of Directors. Many of the AICI members shared their successes for the year and others shared individual meanings of success. All success testimonial participants were entered into a drawing and many lucky winners left the event with a great prize.
Catherine, in a in a very magnetic, emotional, comical and energetic fashion, shared her personal and professional story, highlighting her many triumphs and tribulations. Catherine's story had a clear message: "Never give up your dreams and always stay positive."

September 16, 2009 AICI NY Tri-State Chapter is holding an event entitled "An Evening in Paris." Members will be introduced to RUNWAY boutique in SOHO. This event will be held on Wednesday, September 16, at the Runway, 450 Broome Street in NYC, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This will be an event NOT TO MISS! Hors d'oeuvres, champagne and wine will be served. Enjoy a night out in the City and join us! September 23 - September 24, 2009 This is a "first-ever" CEU class being held in Europe. The name of the class is "Propel Your Business to Profit." Participants will learn the essential skills you need to design and deliver a winning image presentation anywhere before groups of any size. Shanna Wu Pecoraro, AICI FLC, VP Education, AICI NY Tri-State Chapter, will host this function. Dominique Isbecque, AICI CIP, will be the speaker. The class will be held in Palermo, Italy. The swap process is straightforward ~ you bring your fashion items that you are ready to part with and simply swap them for something else that is more fabulous for you! You can create new wardrobe combinations without spending a dime! Jacqueline will be on hand to help you decide what's fitting on your body and what's not. The event will take place in Beacon, NY from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 at the Beacon Studios. October 6, 13 and 20, 2009 Kate Ringo Suzuki, Secretary, AICI NY Tri-State Chapter, will be teaching a three-part wardrobe workshop entitled "What to Wear & How to Wear It." It will be held at the Riverdale Community Center, Riverdale Kingsbridge, Academy 141, 660 West 237th Street, #102nd, in Bronx, NY. These sessions will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on each of the three days. Over the three weeks of sessions, Kate will be covering dressing for your figure, organization and wardrobe management, and finding your personal style. "FASHION'S NIGHT OUT"
Fashion Retailers in All Five Boroughs Will Stay Open Until 11PM and Host In-store Events on First Night of Fashion Week Supporting Local Businesses and Promoting Economic Activity throughout the City is Part of Administration's Five Borough Economic Opportunity Plan Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Executive Director Steven Kolb today announced Fashion's Night Out, a citywide event to support local retailers. On the first night of Fashion Week - September 10, 2009 - participating retail stores across the five boroughs will stay open until 11:00 PM and offer an array of in-store celebrations and promotions. Nearly 100 retailers have already signed on to participate in the event. Fashion's Night Out is sponsored by Vogue, CFDA and NYC & Company, New York City's official marketing and tourism organization. Supporting local businesses and promoting economic activity throughout the City is part of the Administration's Five Borough Economic Opportunity Plan to create jobs for New Yorkers today, implement a vision for long-term economic growth, and build affordable, attractive neighborhoods. Small Business Services Commissioner Robert Walsh, Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union President Stuart Appelbaum, Macy's Inc. President and CEO Terry J. Lundgren, designer Vera Wang, Robin Renzi of Me&Ro, National September 11 Memorial & Museum President Joseph Daniels and New York City AIDS Fund Chairman Len McNally, and more than a dozen retailers from across the City joined the Mayor for the announcement in the Blue Room of City Hall.
