Photography Guide E-book

by James Cowlin

It's called America's most scenic highway for good reasons. Twenty national parks and monuments are just the beginning. Miles and miles of two-lane highway pass through landscapes ranging from lush desert to rocky plateaus and towering mountains. In many cases all you have to do is pull over to the side of the road and start snapping beautiful photographs.
US 89 Photography Guide E-book

To introduce road tripping photographers to the wonders of US Route 89, I have put together a guide book to get you started. The book combines an extended version of the article I wrote for the October, 2011, issue of Outdoor Photographer with thirty photographs taken on our 2010 Mexico to Canada and Back Spring Road trip. The book is formatted for reading on a computer screen and is ideal for downloading to the iPad where you can read it in the iBooks app.

A Special Deal for Newsletter Subscribers

On November 1st I will begin selling the e-book for $7. But before I do I want to give it a test run so that I am sure it will be a useful addition to the landscape photographer's library. So here's the deal: For the next ten days, subscribers to this newsletter can download the book for free. All that I ask is that after you have looked through the book, you email me with your comments and criticism. It would also be great if you had any praise that I can use in promoting the book.

Photography Guide Vermilion Cliffs PageI am also making this offer as a "thank you" to all of the new subscribers who signed up after reading the article in Outdoor Photographer. I think you will find the captions on the photographs will give you some insight into my approach to landscape photography in general and US 89 in particular.

Here is how you can get your free copy of Border to Border on US Route 89: A photographer's guide to America's most scenic highway. Click here to send me an email with your request. I've already put US89 Photography Book in the subject line, so just hit send. I will use the email address you send from to reply with a link to download your book from my online distributor. If you want me to send the link to a different address, put that in the body of the email.

The book is a pdf file which you can read in Adobe Acrobat or the pdf viewer of your choice. It is also designed to be enjoyed on the Apple iPad. Just drag the file to the "Books" section in iTunes, and the next time you sync your iPad it will be available in the iBooks reader.

There is no obligation, but your comments, criticism and praise will be greatly appreciated.

Uncle Bob's Self Storage
by James Cowlin

Uncle Bob's Self Storage "We chose your organization because it possessed a great deal of intrigue for us." That is what Jon Ball from Uncle Bob's Self Storage in Phoenix wrote in response to why they signed up as the newest Business Member of the US Route 89 Appreciation Society. He went on to say:

"We've spent a great deal of money marketing in the mass media sector and decided a few months ago that we wanted to invest in worthy local organizations that could do something good with the marketing money. The Route 89 Appreciation Society fits perfectly into our initiative, it's a quality, local, grass roots organization that could use financial support. We want to reward groups like the Route 89 Appreciation Society."

In these difficult times when support is hard to come by, it is good to know that there are organizations like Uncle Bob's that want to make a difference while promoting their business.

I hope that if you have a need for a storage facility, you'll take a look at Uncle Bob's Self Storage. Support the people who support us.
