Photographs from the Spring Road Trip Now Online

We've been home for a month after 32 days on US Route 89. All in all, it was a great road trip. We drove nearly 6,000 miles and spent 18 out of 31 nights snuggled up in our teardrop trailer, the Pod. We managed to make 24 blog posts from the road including four video interviews. Most exciting for me was having the time to do some in-depth photography. For the most part, we either camped in one spot for a few days or only moved a short distance. That gave us plenty of time to stop when we saw something interesting or photogenic. As a result, I shot over 2,000 photographs which took up nearly 70 GB on my hard drive.

Editing the photographs has been a challenge. As I went through the files, general themes began to emerge. Of course, landscape photographs are the most numerous. My initial edit was aimed at finding the landscape images that reveal the landscape as I experienced it, those that convey my emotional response at the time I clicked the shutter. I narrowed this selection down to 30. You can see the 2010 Spring Road Trip Portfolio on the US Route 89 blog. There is also information on the blog on how to order prints from this collection.

The other themes that I plan for future galleries are flowers, water, Indian ruins, clouds, tourists and, of course, the road itself. Here is a preview:
