US Route 89 Remodeled Website Now Online
|
|
The newly remodeled US Route 89 Appreciation Society is now live online. While updating the look of the site was one goal, the most important improvements are in providing more information and easier access. When you use the new US Route 89 webiste, here are the some of the improvements you will find:
Easy site search: In the top right corner of every page there is a search box. Type the name of a town, national park or other attraction and click the search button. The results of your search are displayed in order of relevance. Click on the link to the page you want to view. Return to your search results to connect to other relevant pages.
Expanded road trip vacation guides: The heart of the US Route 89 website is the Road Trip Guides. We have added new information and photographs to each guide. You will find a more complete description of each section of the road along with a list of special attractions. We add new photo galleries and other information to the guides on a regular basis, so check back often for updates. Also new to the Road Trip Guides is a list of sponsors for each guide. This is where you can connect to local organizations and businesses.
Sharing your stories and photographs with fellow travelers: The user contribution section is greatly improved. Each story can now have up to four photographs. The registration process is simpler and more secure. Your entry will be found on the appropriate Road Trip Guide and listed on the What's New page as soon as it is posted.
Shopping in the 89 store: This is a new venture for the US Route 89 project. Right now in the store you will find photographs by James Cowlin and paintings by Barbara Kemp Cowlin. Coming soon will be an inventory of custom US Route 89 products from note cards to refrigerator magnets.
Keeping up with what's new: You will find the What's New page under the About The 89 Project tab. This is the one place to go to find news, stories, photographs and features on the website. We will update this page whenever we add to the site or have news to tell you about. To be informed when an announcement is added to the What's New page, add it to your favorite news reader, such as Live Bookmarks or Google Reader, by clicking on the orange RSS button at the bottom of the page.
Your feedback is invited: We would love to hear from you. If you have any comments, corrections or suggestions for us about the US Route 89 Appreciation Society website, or US Route 89 in general, use the feedback form on the Contact Us page. We acknowledge all emails sent to us and will respond to you as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours. If you don't hear from us right away, it is because we are on the road and without an internet connection.
Your support and enthusiasm for traveling on US Route 89 has made this update possible. If you like what you see, we ask you to support our continuing efforts by joining the US Route 89 Appreciation Society. Click here for the membership page on the website where the sign up process is easily accomplished through Paypal.
