A p r i l ,  2012
Laura

It's been a busy year already at J.Ferm! We were sad to lose our "intern-extraordinaire," Anna Zetterholm, at the end of 2011, but love the fact that she is back in Sweden helping us re-energize the European markets.

On the other hand, we are thrilled to have added two new team members in the Columbus office. Please help me officially welcome Laura Benton, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Coach and Sara Diehl, Executive Assistant to the team. I know they are looking forward to working with you this year.

  • Our 2012 Group Coaching Programs Have Been Launched! If you are interested in bringing in this program to your organization, email us today!

  • Cardinal Health Completes Executive Presence Pilot Program: After a successful pilot program designed to teach Director-level leaders how to amp up their executive presence, Cardinal has retained us to deliver two more pilots in 2012. We are thrilled to work with this amazing organization and look forward to assisting them in making this course a permanent part of their leadership development program.

  • Attorneys Learn to Follow Flawlessly: In May, the Central Ohio Chapter-Association of Corporate Counsel members are in a for a treat! They will be taught to lead and follow in the popular J.Ferm program, "So You Think You Can Lead. But Can You Follow?" Pain:

"My work days seem to be stressful and fast paced. This makes it very difficult for me to remain focused and see tasks through to completion. I often feel unprepared for meetings or presentations."

Quick Fix:

Being prepared is the best way to eliminate stress.

  1. Take 7-10 minutes at the end of your evening to prepare for the following day. Look at your calendar to see what is coming up so you know what you need to prepare for (attire, paperwork, presentations, etc.)
  2. Do not wait until the last minute to prepare anything. Schedule time on your calendar to plan for work projects, presentations or meetings. When you go in with a plan and a clear thought process, it will show.

Email us your "pain" and we'll fix it quickly!

Client Question: "We want to develop sustainable training options in-house. What tips to you have for doing so effectively and what questions should I ask potential vendors to make sure we get the right program for our organization?"

J.Ferm Answer: "We always recommend doing a training session or workshop pilot first. In preparation for the pilot, discuss the following questions before deciding to sign up with the vendor: 1. Are you willing to design and deliver a pilot program where we are highly involved to determine if we wish to continue using the format, content, and you as a vendor?..." Continue reading

To succeed in business, your skills at the dining table must be on par with your skills at the boardroom table. Understanding these simple rules will reduce stress and up your "executive presence" quotient. Continue reading
