February: New Scripts
It is hard to believe it is February already. I hope your new year is starting off strong and you took some time last month to reflect and evaluate the way you spend your time using our "Time Tracker". Many of you downloaded the Goal Setting Workbook and started working on your Master Plan. I applaud you for taking this step. Writing down your goals and reading them out loud has immense power and you have now placed them into your consciousness. You might be wondering, “What do I do next?” This and future eNewsletters will answer that question. I will take you through my strategies and steps to live your life at a higher level of performance.
Speaking of performances, it is award season-time – you know, the Grammy Awards & Academy Awards and even though the shows might be in jeopardy because the script-writers are on strike, doesn’t mean your show has to! The first step to living life at performance level is writing the "script" of your life. The dictionary describes the word script as the blueprint or roadmap that outlines a story through visual descriptions, actions of characters and their dialogue. Here at the Curtis Zimmerman Group a script is just that-- a roadmap that guides you to make decisions about everything. Decisions about the car you drive, the clothes you wear, the social circles you travel in, the amount of money you earn, the closeness you have with your family and friends and your potential to change and become the person you ultimately want to develop into it all are dictated by the scripts you choose for yourself. If the world is a stage and you are the star and the director, then you must also be accountable for the script. Jump off the cliff with me this month to work on those areas of your life you would like to re-write. And because it’s February, love the “new you” and love the “new script” that you will begin writing for yourself.
Write Your Script
When was the last time you sat quietly by yourself and thought about the script of your life? You can write anything you want: comedy, drama, love story, action-adventure or complete nonsense. This month, I want you to write down what you want your life to look like, what you want yourself to look like, and who and what you want to attract in your life that is currently not there. You may be happy with some aspects of your life and ready for change in others. Don’t limit your new script by re-reading old scripts. Your past is just that - your past. Also, don’t over think it, just write down your desires.Today: Reflect & Record Think about the change you'd like to make in your life and write it down. What do you want your marriage to look like? What do you want yourself to look like? What type of people do you want to attract in your life? What do you want in life that is currently not there? What do you want your family relationships to be like? Don't forget to record what is great about your life too. Order our Living the Dream™ Journal, a great tool to begin recording and re-writing your scripts. This week: Create the change you want to make The year ahead is certain to bring you opportunities to learn and grow, but often times it’s easier to demonstrate what you already know rather than trying new things. It is sometimes easier to stick with your “old “scripts – the skills, talents and coping mechanisms you have acquired throughout your life. Start creating your script by practicing these small changes...
This month: Live the Scripts When writing your life script you decide the visual description of how your life looks, who you want in your life and how you will act in it. Give yourself permission to start living the life script that you have designed and deserve.

I had the pleasure of meeting you at Florida State University where both of my daughters attend college. We were truly inspired by your performances and try our best to live our lives at performance level. In fact, I recently retired from my foot and ankle surgery practice and am truly enjoying my family and several new ventures. In my new “show,” I have “cast myself” as an author and public speaker in addition to some radio and television work. Thanks so much for the inspiration. There will always be a special place for you in my show.”

I am so grateful that you crossed a path in my life that has changed me and how I write my script. I saw you at the FSU orientation when my daughter started college in 2004. She was just inducted into the International Honor Society for Nursing and will graduate with her degree in April. When she started at FSU she had no clue what she wanted to do but she was influenced by your presentation at the orientation and she has progressed to a level of which I am very proud. It wasn’t without a lot of tough times and learning curves along the way but it has been a tremendous accomplishment that will take her through life. I also have made a tremendous change in how I live my life after seeing your presentation. I am in a position I would never have considered I could have achieved without hearing your encouraging words about writing a new script – and I am not through writing!!
