New Guide: Controlling Insurance Costs

Business today in our current economy is as difficult as it has ever been, and the insurance industry is no different. Anything that could potentially help set us apart will make the difference between obtaining new business and losing it to our competition.  Educating the moving industry, having a comprehensive and competitive insurance program, creating brand recognition, driving value to the customer and having a strong broker network increases our chances of successfully writing new accounts and retaining current clients.  Keeping that in mind, we have created an insurance guide: Controlling Insurance Costs. The main intention of this guide is to educate the moving and storage agent on their complex insurance program. We hope this guide helps you steer your customers through the key aspects of coverage, so they can better understand the type of insurance to purchase to help protect their business and control costs and to provide some material that supports our joint effort to write and retain clients.

The guide is being marketed nationally to over 10,000 moving and storage companies by direct mail, email, and media advertising.  In order to obtain a free guide the mover will be required to register online and we will request the opportunity to provide a competitive insurance quotation on their next renewal. All new business leads generated from these marketing efforts will be distributed to our broker network.

We have spent large resources of time and money to develop this marketing campaign and hope it continues to prove to your agency we are the best place for your moving and storage customers and we value your partnership with us.

All of us at Paul Hanson Partners thank your for your continued loyalty to our program and look forward to continued growth in 2010.

Sincerely,

Lisa R. Paul, CPCU

President, CEO

Loss Control - Pre-Employment Screening Program
Article By Sandy Quiett, Claims Manager

SandyWe all know how important the Motor Vehicle Report is to the evaluation and hiring process in the transportation industry.  However, the information found on the MVR may not be enough to ensure that your business is protected.  The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is in the final stages of developing the Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP), which will provide motor carriers the ability to review the roadside inspection and crash history of new applicants and prospective drivers seeking employment as commercial drivers.

Information in the PSP summary will come from MCMIS (Motor Carrier Management Information System) and contains five years of state reported DOT crash involvement and three years of roadside inspection history.

We encourage you to enroll in the system now.  This will allow you to have immediate access to driver records once the FMCSA makes them available.

We always encourage feedback in regards to our newsletters and announcements.  Providing relevant, accurate and useful information is very important to us, and if you have any suggestions, comments or concerns we always want to hear your voice.  We value our relationship with you and appreciate your business and your loyalty.
