Employee security vetting
NJC carry out Disclosure Scotland criminal record checks for all employees and are happy to work with customers to comply with their own security vetting procedures. Our basic screening process includes a 5 year employment history check, two satisfactory previous employer references and proof of identity and the right to live and work in the UK. NJC have experience with customers such as the C P S, HM Customs & Revenue, Detica, Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority and National Air Traffic Control.

We carry out passport and relevant document checks required under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. Managers responsible for recruitment attend
regular seminars and refresher courses for immigration/asylum checks and spotting fake documents as this is a major problem in the UK cleaning industry. We have also undergone training with UK Border Control and have close contact with them for consultation to deal with candidates suspected of not being permitted to work in the UK. |

Fingerprint time and attendance
On NJC contracts, all permanent site based staff and cover staff can clock in and out of their place of work using a simple fingerprint scanner connected to a web enabled pc terminal (provided by the customer).
The time and attendance information is recorded and available to view on the AMONET web portal providing complete transparency of NJC's labour resources provided for the contract. Specific reports can be generated directly from the online system into PDF and data can be exported to Excel or CSV.

Through this system our management are always aware of the site staffing levels and so can react quickly to ensure that the necessary labour force is in place to meet the site requirements. This information provides management with an effective tool to combat tardiness of site based staff and ensures that the contracted allocation of operative hours are being provided. This system is provided as part of NJC's service offering.

Gratitude awards
NJC have recently introduced a Gratitude Award Scheme where we encourage our staff and customers to nominate individuals for an Award when they have demonstrated service above and beyond the call of duty. We want our staff to be recognised for their efforts, particularly when they put our values into action. When an individual is nominated, either by a
colleague or customer, we present them with a framed certificate of their excellent service and a gift voucher.

Tablet PC cleaning audits
Regular cleaning audits are carried out by NJC quality control officers in accordance with BICSc guidelines. The audits are carried out using a tablet PC providing transparency and real-time reporting. The audit areas are selected at random on every audit by our purpose built software module. The quality control officer will grade each area and write notes for action and take digital images, if any areas are substandard. The results of the audits are downloaded in real time to the AMONET customer web portal,
together with internal work orders to the management team for action and the customer for information. It is NJC's audit strategy to be pro-active about service quality. We aim to discover and remedy service failures before they are noticed by the customer, significantly improving cleaning standards, service perception and customer experience. |
