It's hard to go through a day these days without hearing about the turmoil in Iraq, especially about the problems related to the Shiites (Shias) and Sunnis.
Regardless of who is right or wrong, it is resulting in a lot of loss of life.
The loss is on all sides....and most of it involves civilians.
Civilians are dying in the cross fire...civilians are being killed by armed militias and civilians are killing civilians....
So, no matter what you call it, it is civil war...
That is worrisome and deserves a moment of analysis...
But what is more worrisome is that this civil war is based on hatred that has the potential to infect Muslims outside Iraq and can have other types of impact on everyone across the world...
The other disconcerting fact is that Iraqi Sunnis and Shiites are not the only stakeholders in this scenario....Others are involved as well...
