Did you know that approximately more than 100,000 Americans work in the Middle East and Islamic countries? Besides that, a very high percentage of these Americans are doctors, surgeons, engineering specialists, executives and hold other high profile professional positions. Along the same lines, more than 20 million non-US expatriate workers live and work in Middle Eastern countries as well.
Why such a trend? One of the primary reasons for such a large number of foreign workforce living and working in those countries is due to the lucrative opportunities offered by the companies in those countries (Saudi-Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, etc.). For many professionals therefore, it is worthwhile to enjoy a few years in a different culture while saving money in the process.
