Greetings!
Planning your 2011 budget can be a challenging task, so having a read into industry trends and spending forecasts can be helpful. Gardner Research's 42nd Annual Capital Spending Survey is the largest and most comprehensive survey detailing future spending in the discrete parts manufacturing industries.
Planning for a better, cleaner tomorrow is the idea behind new fuel emission standards soon to come. For automotive manufacturers and their suppliers, these new standards will create both a challenge and an opportunity to take part in creating higher efficiency products, particularly trucks and large commercial vehicles.
Concerned with improving their own production efficiency and throughput, tool shops across all industries are turning to advanced technologies and processes such as high-feed tooling and high-feed machining. Requiring less programming, shorter setup times, and fewer tools, high-speed machining can lead to significant savings in machining time and budget, equaling more money to the bottom line.
Perfection is what we are all attempting to achieve. As hard as we try, there are times when a product just doesn't come out right. When this happens, it's good to take a step back and remember there are certain variables in every project that we can't always control, but can better understand and prepare for.
