Greetings!
Have the recent trying economic times affected
consumer spending? Many would agree that
yes, a shift to a more frugal-minded, earth-conscious,
safety-focused consumer base is evident and is having an impact on the
manufacturing industry in more ways than one.
Business spending has also been impacted
by the economy. 2009 meant spending freezes and
near-impossible credit lending. However, the
pendulum is swinging in a positive direction. With
manufacturing activity at its highest point since August
2004, banks are finally loosening their
belts and making financing more accessible
for small businesses.
Companies that capitalize on the desire for cost-
savings, earth-friendly products are well
positioned for
future growth. One such company is Amcor PET
Packaging, which has recently unveiled new plastic
bottle designs aimed at saving cost while
using less material.
And, leave it to Apple to continue to be innovative with
its products, as it recently revealed the latest - the
iPad. But, can it fit into the manufacturing
environment?
