Mrs. Dalloway's Bookstore
Saturday, May 16, 4 pm

Charles Hobson will talk about his new book, Ancient Mariner, an essay by Roger Angell, at Mrs. Dalloway's Bookstore,
Saturday, May 16th, at 4 pm.

Roger Angell is best known as a New Yorker magazine senior editor and as a baseball writer. His memoir, Ancient Mariner, is about sailing in Maine and conveys vivid images of his sailing experiences of more than sixty years.

Ancient Mariner  is published in a limited edition, with a large, 15-by-11-inch, accordion-page format, and bound in boards covered with copies of maritime charts used by the author.  It is contained in a slipcase covered in sailcloth-like canvas.  Ancient Mariner includes model sails and rigging, maritime charts of Maine, and mono-types with pastel by  Charles Hobson. In order to read the final page, the reader must actually jibe the mainsail.

Charles Hobson will have a variety of his books for sale after the presentation.
