FDA's Powerful Stealth Attack on Supplements! 

In a cowardly fashion the FDA launched a stealth attack on dietary supplements on the July 4 holiday weekend.  This is a common ploy to sneak by the media's focused attention.  Will we let them get away with it?

The story was broken by health rights advocate groups like Alliance for Natural Health, and stated that on July 1, the US Food and Drug Administration issued this Draft Guidance for Industry: Dietary Supplements: New Dietary Ingredient Notifications and Related Issues.

Read the entire draft (above link), but the plot began in 1994 when the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) was enacted. Since 1994, supplement manufacturers received virtually little to no guidance on what counts as an NDI (New Dietary Ingredient) notification or when or how to send this, soon to be stealth weapon, NDI notification.   

To their benefit, the government chose to ignore and did not enforce this particular section of the DSHEA.  A failure of duty that has been too often the case falling in the favor of government agencies doing as it liked, and not spelling out the rules that may or will harm us by loss of rights.

What is the point?  A vital point is the change of term "New Dietary Ingredient (NDI)", substituted "New Supplement", meaning we are faced with whether the supplement industry is allowed to innovate and create new supplements, which is part of our basic freedoms in this country, and if so, under what restrictions.

Now the government has found a time bomb to use against us from seventeen years ago from the passing of the DSHEA.  The FDA, mandated by the recent Food Safety Modernization Act, drafted guidance on "new supplements" (NDIs). This means supplements introduced since 1994 - that is a lot of new discoveries and innovations for our health. 

The typical governmental ploy of very complicated new regulations in fine detail were reviewed.  Now, is there still anyone out there who doesn't know that the FDA is the last possible agency that we want regulating supplements.  They have always been hostile to supplements and want everything, supplements and drugs, to go through the ridiculously expensive (from our taxes) new drug approval process.  Most everyone agrees that the new rules will be used to forbid the development or sale of any new supplements whatsoever - after 1994.

Even altered ingredients since 1994 in a supplement may fall under this attack. Another example of the government's attack is, FDA already banned pyridoxamine, a vital form of vitamin B6, because that particular form of B6 couldn't be shown to have been sold prior to 1994, although B6 was obviously sold prior to 1994.

There are many very important new or altered supplements that they are targeting to ban dependent upon how the process runs or is allowed to run by us.  These are not unusual supplements that are targeted, but the ones you have on your self at home, the ones you give your children and parents.  

The FDA has the power to pull from the market any supplement right now, whether grandfathered in or not, if they show cause.  

We will not wait for the FDA to have the power to ban all new supplements at their irrational choosing, will we?    

Know that this is the most effective, powerful and encompassing attack on natural supplements ever launched.  All of the large supplement manufacturers have been greatly concerned over the last few years of the growing threat to their livelihood and ability to supply us with natural and healthy supplements rather than the toxic pharmacia/pharmakeia (Gal. 5:19-21 and Rev. 9:21; 18:23 meaning witchcraft - pharmacy and pharmaceuticals derived from the original Greek pharmakeia) drugs, which is a large part of the NIH (National Institutes of Health) statistics of being the number one cause of death (Iatrogenic - read KIMA Journal #2) in the USA.  The truth is that we are closer to losing that vital freedom than anytime prior.
