Windblown Cross Country Skiing

Windblown Winter Weekly

Volume 11, Number 13

March 4, 2011

Dear Skiers and Snowshoers,

Winter will be moving into Spring mode this weekend for all you Spring Skiing lovers. Deep snow cover, a fresh white surface, and mild temperatures make for a lovely ski or snowshoe on a soft powder and granular trail. Saturday will be the better day for weather - sun with clouds passing by and a high temp. in the low 40's. Sunday's high will be in the mid-40's. Late in the afternoon rain showers are forecast to arrive. Time to shed the fleece mid-layers. Aaahhhh . . .

Pond Loop with fresh powder
Anyone wanting to purchase or update their ski equipment should consider coming to our used ski and snowshoe sale next Saturday, March 12th. We will be selling 40 to 50 sets of waxless skis with Salomon Profile bindings and boots, as well as some snowshoes. Check the conditions page next week for details.

At this time of year we tend to have fewer skiers on weekdays so occasionally we close the Ski Shop and leave the trails open. We call these Value Days because the trails fees are reduced. Rentals and food are not available on Value Days so be sure to check our website before coming on weekdays for the remainder of this season.

More front page local press this week! Monadnock Ledger-Transcript

Yesterday we skied on an inch of fresh powder under a brilliant blue sky. Time to start my March 2011 FaceBook Album

Winter is a short-timer now. Spring skiing in March is always a bonus not to be missed. Hope to see you on the trails,

Irene
