Dear Skiers and Snowshoers,
Surprise! This is a brief message to let you know that we actually have enough snow to slide around on for those of you who have older skis, a.k.a. rock skis, or who have new skis and want to ski a one kilometer loop on the Swimming Pond. We have groomed flat four kilometers of woods trails and set tracks on the pond as well as groomed a skate lane on the pond. The snow is 4" to 5" deep, all powder.
Today through Sunday will be what we call Value Days. This means the Lodge / Ski Shop is closed and rentals and food are not available. You pay a reduced trail fee in the Waxing Shed by filling out an envelope, enclosing cash or a check, and putting it in the locked box there. Adults are $5, Juniors (age 8 to 17) are $3. We check the parking lot after 5 pm to make sure everyone has safely left. This weekend there will be a fire going in the wood stove of the Waxing Shed - please add a log if it is low. And you are welcome to start a fire in the wood stove at the Warming Hut. If you have already purchased a Season Pass or plan to, just mark that on the envelope and leave it empty.
Our new trail maps are expected to arrive today! They are printed on waterproof, tear proof paper and meant to last for at least one winter of use. So, since they are not disposable maps we are charging one dollar per map. As always, we will have maps posted at all the major trail junctions so it's not a problem if you choose not to buy a map.
Lastly, this is being sent from a NEW email address which means you may need to add it to your contacts so that it doesn't go to your spam box first. We are no longer be using our earthlink email addresses. If you received two of these emails or if you wish to be removed from our email list, please sent us a response.
Hopefully we will be getting a lot more snow from the storm expected on Sunday night into Monday. If so we will be in great shape and will be fully open in the Lodge for the Holiday week.
Happy Holiday,
Irene
