Winter is Here!
Dear Skiers and Snowshoers,

Opening Day of the 2010-2011 Season is tomorrow!
All we wanted for Christmas was a big snowstorm - and voila! We could of course always wish for even more snow but we'll take the 10" that we got today on top of our 3" to 5" base.
Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, at 9 am we will open in the Ski Shop with ski and snowshoe rentals, trail tickets, season passes, and lunch food will be available upstairs. Lessons will start up by Friday for certain, possibly sooner - call to confirm.

After the snow fell the wind blew it around a bunch so there are some thinner spots but we've been busy with shovels adding more snow where needed. There will be 28 kilometers open - 20 k with tracks set, 15 k skate groomed. Snowshoers can enjoy all 40 kilometers of trails but the Black trails need more cover before we can open them to skiers. The ponds are safe and the views are grand. Come enjoy the fresh packed powder.
The new trail maps are here! We are charging one dollar for trail maps because they are very durable and should last all season. Twenty-four maps are posted at the major trail junctions for folks who don't have one in their pocket.

Hope to see you on the trails this holiday week.

Irene
