Howdy!

Books, Food, and Music

Interesting books, good music, and savory meals can allow you to enter into new worlds and new lives. Crack open a book about cowboy tales, and find yourself in the Rockies or the Old West. Slip a disc in the CD player, and find yourself dancin' and singin' along to a country swing band that sounds as good as if you were right there at the show. Season some steaks with some great rubs and enjoy a tasty meal with old and new friends alike.

The Western Vault and its members have some books, music, and seasoning that'll make your life a more imaginitive, harmonic, and delicious one to live.

Big Texas Swing

Dave Alexander in Era, Texas

 (972) 393-1586

View ProfileView Inventory

Once you have seen Dave Alexander in concert, it's easy to understand why he's been named "Entertainer of the Year" by the Academy of Western Artists.

This arist is no stranger to the road or rodeo either. Last year, in addition to his touring schedule, Alexander and his golden palomino, Missy, made more than 100 personal appearances at some of the largest professional rodeos in the country. Alexander says this is how he connects with fans:

"It's simply the best way I know to get my music to my people. Western music is an important part of the cowboy world, and that world will always include riding and rodeo."

Listen to a few of Alexander's tracks, and watch a video of him and his band having a great time performing on tour.

Icy Blue Heart

Templeton Thomas in Dickson, Tennessee

(713) 248-7840

View ProfileView Inventory

Singer-songwriter Templeton Thompson has an impressive resume--she's written songs that have been recorded on multi-million-selling CDs by country superstars like Reba McEntire, been featured in a 20th Century Fox movie, had her single on the Texas Music Chart, and many other accomplishments.

In her latest project, Icy Blue Heart, Thompson covers '70s songs that inspired her growing up:

As a singer-songwriter, I've been inspired by artists like Bonnie Raitt, Linda Rondstadt, Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, the Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, and more. This project is a chance for me to record songs that I love and grew up on and--I guess in some ways--it's a chance for me to say thanks to the folks who've inspired me as an artist.

To listen to songs or buy albums, visit Thompson's website. Turn the volume up, press play, and get into the Western spirit!

Country Music Crooner

 Libby Koch in Houston, Texas

(713) 865-6840

View ProfileView Inventory
Like many independent singer-songwriters, Libby Koch's music is not easily defined by one genre. Her influences include Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch, and Lucinda Williams.

During a three-year stint in Nashville, Koch wrote most of the songs on Redemption, her full-length album. The 10-song album contains nine original songs about heartbreak, regret, faith, and salvation. The album concludes with a moving cover of Johnny Cash's classic, "I Still Miss Someone."

You can catch Koch regularly performing around the Houston area and across Texas. Listen to her music or watch her performing, and you'll see why the music scene has fallen in love with this country crooner!
