Pioneer Woman
Thanksgiving Feast Throwdown with Bobby Flay
What happens when you combine a pinch of city, a dash of country and a scrumptious Thanksgiving Feast? You get Pioneer Woman. Meet Ree Drummond, former city slicker turned cowgirl. Do not be fooled by her sweet face- Ree makes a mean, hard to beat Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings. We're sure city slicker Chef Flay has his work cut out for him in this exciting Thanksgiving Throwdown! The episode airs November 18th on Food Network!
Here is a sneak peak of the many Thanksgiving recipes in the episode!
Roasted Thanksgiving Turkey Ingredients: - 2 gallons water
- 2 cups apple juice
- 1 1/2 cups kosher salt
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 5 bay leaves
- 4 tablespoons black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
- 3 oranges, peeled, white pith removed, skin roughly chopped
- 1 (20-pound) fresh turkey
- 1 1/2 sticks softened butter
- 3 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary leaves
- 3 tablespoons chopped orange zest

Directions:
Combine the water, apple juice, salt, sugar, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, dried rosemary, and orange peel in a large pot and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat immediately, cover, and allow mixture to come to room temperature. Cool mixture in the fridge until you're ready.
To brine the turkey, remove the turkey from wrapper, remove interior bags (set aside; refrigerate), and rinse turkey thoroughly under cool water.
Place the turkey into a plastic brining bag or a very large pot. Pour the cooled brine mixture over the top, adding extra cold water if you need more to completely cover the turkey. Seal the bag or cover the pot and allow the turkey to brine in the refrigerator for 16 to 24 hours before roasting...

Jerry Baird's
A Taste of the Old Wild West with the Convenience of Today
One can only imagine what it is like to cook for thousands of folks who are expecting a gourmet meal, even under the most difficult conditions. And, that is what Jerry Baird has done, and continues to do. After all, we all become food gourmets when we have our knives and forks in our hands. We expect to be treated like kings and queens. We expect quality. And that is what the Executive Committee at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta expected and received, and the 1995 Longhorn Cattle Drive from Texas to Montana, and all of the other groups that have been served vittles by Jerry Baird using his wonderful seasonings. We call it a taste of the Old West with the convenience of today.

Jerry Baird's Chuckwagon Cook Seasoning
|
It's one thing to have a fancy laboratory to play around in to try to make new, innovative seasonings, and to devote full time to such an endeavor. It is quite another to develop some of the most unique, authentic, and flavorful seasonings available to the market from a chuck wagon while cooking for some ol' greasy belly cowboys out on the trail. Well, that is exactly what Jerry Baird has accomplished over the past 30 years through his mixture of herbs and spices to create some really unique flavors. Significantly, Jerry's seasonings have relatively low amounts of sodium. And, now, these seasonings are being offered under the brand name of Jerry Baird's Gourmet Spices. These seasonings truly are "authentic". Now, six of the best seasonings ever are packed in a single, great looking box- a great gift for yourself, or your clients, family, and friends this holiday season!
