Stock show and rodeo season is in full swing. It's the perfect time to shop hundreds of vendors for a great show special on that new pair of boots.
The cowboy boot has a long history. It began as a necessary item for the historic cowboy- used to help him ride West and protect him on the way. The heel, sole, and shaft were designed with specific purposes to fit the life of the cowboy. If these first boots could tell their story, it would be one of hard work and thousands of miles in untamed land. They represented strength, drive, and independence.
These historic cowboys would lose their hats over the styles and prices of boots today. Now, the sky is the limit. There is a boot for every occasion and lifestyle, showcasing colors and fabrics that fit each individual owner. Cowboy boots are still an icon; and now, they have a new story to tell.

Official Artist of Road to the Horse: Susan Edison of Diamond M Ranch Designs!
 Each year, Road to the Horse searches for the perfect artist to accurately portray the World Championship of colt-starting. Selected for her stellar western artwork and illustrations, Susan Edison has been named the official artist for the 2011 Legends featuring Pat Parelli, Chris Cox, and Clinton Anderson.
Susan Edison, a BFA graduate from Columbus College of Art & Design in Ohio, has been an illustrator for 30 years. She moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1981 and opened her own free-lance studio. Over the years, she has won numerous awards and has been invited to do many speaking engagements. Painting in acrylic glazes, she moves bold color  with energy in a stylized realism. Plum Sassy Cowgirls, a tribute to the spirited and tough cowgirl, have been displayed in the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and on the Montana Historical Society Magazine cover. She was also honored to be the official artist for the Women's National Finals Rodeo.
