Preparing for Irene 

Stay Safe - It goes without saying - stay indoors during the storm.  With high winds come flying objects and downed power lines.

Store and secure items in the yard.  Things like patio furniture, garbage cans, and kids toys become projectiles in high winds.  If you have a basketball net with a portable base, lay it on the ground to prevent it from falling on your car.

Move vehicles and boats into the garage.

Clear leaves and debris from storm drains in front of your home to prevent flooding.

Expect power outages.  Have candles and batteries on hand.  Do not leave candles burning unattended.  Fill your propane tank so you can still cook on the grill.

Quake Shakes the Northeast

This week's earthquake sent tremors up the East coast and left alot of people wondering two things:

As for your insurance, the standard homeowners and commercial policies DO NOT include coverage for earthquake.  Coverage can be added to the policy for an additional premium.
