November - Movember - Snovember!

Each year it would seem that ski resorts are opening earlier and earlier, which for us is only a good thing, as we simply love winter! This time of year is a crucial one for ski resorts as they are keeping a close eye on the weather predictions and using every minute below zero degrees to produce as much snow as possible. Occupy Mountains!

Did you know that 99% of the powder is skied by only 1% of the skiers? For sure Maxime Arsenault knows, as you can tell by watching this month's Viral Video. Maximus (his nickname) is filled with passion and always, without fail, picking the biggest airs and lines wherever he goes. This video section is shot by Dendrite Studios and by the looks of it these guys know how to handle a camera! Also the GoPro helmet cam puts you in the driver's seat: adrenaline guaranteed. All in all, it’s well worth watching. So go get yourself that cup of coffee, then sit back and relax for a few minutes, it's friday after all!

Ski Opening Parties Overview

Did you know that from the end of November until the beginning of December there is hardly anywhere in the Alps where there isn't a big party going on? More and more resorts are seeing the benefits of opening their ski resort with a bang, sometimes attracting up to 20,000 visitors at a time! One of the biggest and best opening parties is in Ischgl who this year had Roxette playing out hits from yesteryear whilst over in Schladming-Planai they have arranged for Thirty Seconds to Mars, Marlon Roudette and Natalia Kills to warm up the early birds. So take a look at what’ going on where and get yourself on a flight!

R.I.P. Jamie Pierre

Last weekend the global freeride community was shocked by the news of freeski legend Jamie Pierre getting killed by an avalanche. A week before the ski resort of Snowbird (Utah) opened, Jamie Pierre became the victim of an avalanche that he triggered himself.
