When cool weather comes, these bugs seek every available opening into your home.  One of the easiest place to come in is thru the vent for your pellet stove.  When enough of them take up residence in you combustion blower, they will keep the impeller from turning and the stove will not operate.  There is no way to keep them from coming into the chimney without blocking the entire chimney.  If you have easy access to the termination, put a plastic bag over the vent and seal with tape.  DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE THE BAG BEFORE STARTING THE STOVE!!

 

For those who cannot bag the cap, try operating the stove for a least an hour every few days to kill the bugs and keep them from accumulating in the combustion blower.
