  | Small Business Says, "Washington, Please Get Out of the Way!" |
| | |
When: Monday, August 8
11:30 to 1:00 p.m.
Where: Liberty Hall Conference Center 800 Eisenhower Dr., Appleton.
The results of a recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Outlook Survey 1 confirmed what was suspected for some time: the small business outlook for our country isn't bright, and job creation is suffering as a result. Eighty-four percent of survey respondents thought the U.S. economy was on the wrong track, 62 percent were deeply concerned about what the federal government might do next, and 79 percent said that their top need is for Washington to "get out of the way."
A recent Rasmussen Report showed the general public is on the same page with 72 percent of likely U.S. voters polled citing a free market economy as better than an economy managed by the government.
The most powerful way for small business operators to get their message to their federal representatives in Washington is face to face. Join the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Heart of the Valley, to a luncheon conversation with Congressman Reid Ribble and Andrew Card, former U.S. Transportation Secretary, on Monday, August 8 at Liberty Hall.
A panel of local business executives will also address the group. Invited panelists include:
- Russ Wanke, VP & General Manager - Thilmany
- Bruce Zak, President - CHASE Bank
- Jeff Feldt, General Manager - Kaukauna Electric Utility
- Chris Hanson, President - Hanson Benefits Inc.
With small businesses employing half of all private sector employees, the federal government needs to get out of the way and allow independent entrepreneurs to do what they do best ... work hard, take chances and create jobs.
Attendance will be limited to the first 200 chamber members. Cost to attend is $25.00 per person and includes a plated lunch. To register click here or contact the Fox Cities Chamber by calling (920) 734-7101. |
