Social Justice Learning Institute

May 2011

Greetings!

As an organization committed to social justice, we are excited to see the members of our community come together to improve their health, environment and education. It is because of you, that our organization is able to play a role within our community and beyond. We look forward to your continued support as we work to  build hope, create change and develop opportunities for individuals to live empowered lives.

With warm regards,

Black Male Youth Academy
Students present documentary at UCLA

On May 11, 2011, the students of the Black Male Youth Academy (BMYA) presented their research at the University of California, Los Angeles' Black Male Institute (BMI) Think Tank symposium.  The young men were well received during the event and their presentation reminded the audience that Black males are scholars too.  These young men represent a new generation of leadership and hope as they push back against the overwhelming stereotypes that represent Black males. Check out the video below to see the impact of the BMYA.
