What is Big Sunday?
Our mission is to build community through community service.  We believe that everyone has some way that they can help somebody else. Last year on Big Sunday Weekend, 50,000 volunteers turned out to lend a hand at more than 500 different projects from San Diego to San Francisco, making Big Sunday Weekend one of the largest regional community service events in America. On Big Sunday Weekend there are opportunities for every passion, talent, skill and age. Plus, last year on Big Sunday Weekend, we gave away more than 85 truckloads of clothes, books, food, furniture, musical instruments, luggage, toys and other items.
All out for May Day!
MAY DAY   All out for May Day 2012!
Born in Chicago in 1886, May Day is above all else the supreme expression of international solidarity. Where you can, march on May Day. Here in Southern California, a broad range of unions and community organizations are promoting several actions throughout the area on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.  See below and take action!

March with the Workmen's Circle!
Meet at MacArthur Park in front of Langer's Deli (704 South Alvarado, Los Angeles, CA 90057) at 2pm.
  • Call Eric's cell when you get there -- (310) 993-9986 -- to find the rest of the group
  • Wear your union regalia or Arbeter Ring t-shirt so people see us!

*****

Fight for Workers' Rights! Hotel workers, janitors, LAX airport workers and sanitation workers will all hold May Day actions at their workplaces that will culminate with the annual march for immigrants' rights in downtown L.A. in the late afternoon.

LIMITED TIME OFFER! Sale of Cemetery Plots!!
Eden Memorial Park

Limited Time Offer!
Sale of Cemetery Plots to Arbeter Ring Members!

To our members (and prospective members):

One of the historic benefits Arbeter Ring has always offered to our members is reasonably-priced cemetery plots. We have several remaining plots in the beautiful Mount Shalom South section at Eden Memorial Park which we are offering to our members at well below market rate. This section is sold out, but if plots were available there or in comparable sections, they would go for upwards of $9000 each. We are offering these plots to our members at the very attractive price of $6500, but only until Rosh Hashone this fall, that is, for about six months, or as long as they last. At that point, if we have any left, we will open up sales to the general public, and we are confident they will sell quickly. This will be your last opportunity to purchase plots from us, because we do not expect to ever make this benefit available again in Southern California.

Please contact our office at 310.552.2007 for further details.
