Jewish New Year Programs Offer Thoughtful, Meaningful Alternatives to Religious Services  

Our humanistic observances emphasize the historical and cultural significance of the holidays. Especially relevant for the rising number of unaffilated, cultural Jews and those in intercultural relationships.

FREE and open to everyone. This is a family celebration with readings and songs. Join us as we celebrate and reflect on the new year ahead.

Co-sponsored by Sholem and Arbeter Ring/Workmen's Circle, this program of beautiful instrumental and choral music, readings in English, Yiddish, and Hebrew, communal singing, poetry and reflection is an opportunity to renew ourselves and our community for the new year.  Our ceremony will once again feature musician and singer Zuriani "Ani" Zonneveld, president and co-founder of Muslims For Progressive Values.  
 
Tickets may be purchased through PayPay, by mail (until October 1), and at the door -- space permitting.

Ticket prices are as follows: For nonmembers -- $50.00 for adults; $35.00 for seniors and students. For members -- $35.00 for adults; $30 for seniors and students. Tickets will be available at the door, if there's space, for an extra $5 per ticket. 

"In Memoriam" -- Name Listings in Kol Nidre Program
Each year, during theYizker portion of our Kol Nidre program, we read aloud the names of friends and relatives who have died during the past year.

We will also provide an opportunity to list  in our printed program the names of those you would like to remember.  Listings are $10 per name. If you would like a listing, please submit the names and payment by September 30.  Click here for details and for the form to fill out and mail in.

Hadasa is a hit! Thanks to your attendance, her Conversational Yiddish group is thriving. We've gotten people's Yiddish speaking muscles flexing with world-recognized Yiddish teacher, scholar, translator and raconteuse Hadasa Cytrynowicz. Originally from Lodz, and later a long-time resident of Brazil, Hadasa brings a wealth of experience and stories, songs, proverbs and sayings, poetry and interesting topics for discussion to her group. Each session is an hour and 15 minutes.  Admission is by voluntary donation.

 

Keep your Yiddish kite flying by attending this group! All levels of Yiddish are welcome. Kumt arayn!
