Our retired director Eric Gordon has been elected Chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Writers Union, Local 1981 of the United Auto Workers (AFL-CIO). He attended the NWU Delegate Assembly (national convention) in June in Detroit.

Suggested Donation: $10 (no one turned away for lack of funds); Dinner $10
Featured performer is Will Kaufman, singer, guitarists and Professor of American Literature and Culture at the University of Central Lancashire.

Proceeds from this event will be used to support carwash workers who have lost their jobs or had their hours cut in retaliation for their work to provide safe and humanitarian working conditions at carwash facilities, and to aid in the ongoing work of LA Laborfest in addressing contemporary labor issues through cultural expression.

This event is wheelchair accessible and disability affirmative.

Hadasa is a hit! Thanks to your attendance, her Conversational Yiddish group is thriving. We've gotten people's Yiddish speaking muscles flexing with world-recognized Yiddish teacher, scholar, translator and raconteuse Hadasa Cytrynowicz. Originally from Lodz, and later a long-time resident of Brazil, Hadasa brings a wealth of experience and stories, songs, proverbs and sayings, poetry and interesting topics for discussion to her group. Each session is an hour and 15 minutes.  Admission is by voluntary donation.

 

Keep your Yiddish kite flying by attending this group! All levels of Yiddish are welcome. Kumt arayn!
