New Center Website Launched 

CSC Homepage shotThe Duke Center for Sustainability & Commerce at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions has launched a new website. Visit it at: http://center.sustainability.duke.edu 

 

Created in 2010, the center is home to internationally recognized researchers who are dedicated to conducting and making readily available research, data and policies on sustainability. The Center doesn't advocate, it supports independent and transparent sustainability research that can be used by government, industry and other decision makers to meet global sustainability challenges.

 

Murray Named to NAS Committee     

Brian Murray, director for economic analysis, has been named to a National Academies of Science committee tasked with exploring how the federal tax code could influence greenhouse gas emissions. 

 

Policy Recommendations on Fracking 

This policy brief, co-authored by a Nicholas Institute researcher, outlines recommendations for monitoring and addressing potential environmental and human health risks related to hydraulic fracturing.

 

Staffer Earns Environmental Award

The Cape Fear River Assembly recently presented Bill Holman with their J.W. Pate Award, a tribute to his contributions to conservation and environmental protection.
